Are Keith Powers and Ryan Destiny Back Together? What We Know

For years, Keith Powers and Ryan Destiny were the ultimate couple goals. They first crossed paths at a Teen Vogue party in 2015 but initially played coy about their relationship. It wasn't until 2019 that they finally confirmed their romance in a WeTheUrban digital cover that July (via People). At the time, Powers opened up about his feelings on keeping his personal life to himself, explaining, "The more you keep private the happier you'll be. It's not easy being in a public relationship, so you try to keep as much as you can private. Control your own narrative, don't give people too much because they make up stuff from the outside looking in."

Destiny echoed similar sentiments, adding that making sure she's still seen as an individual is key for her. "We try to find a balance," she shared. "I'm already a private person and very career driven so reminding people that I am my own person is important."

It was reported in 2022 that the power couple had split but Powers and Destiny have recently given fans hope of a reconciliation with their joint outings. To get all of the details on their relationship, scroll through this gallery.

Sparks flew between the two when they met at a Teen Vogue party in 2015. They quickly became friends before getting into a relationship after connecting more via Instagram. "I realized I was in love when I knew my life would be extremely affected in a negative way if Ryan wasn't in it," Powers told WeTheUrban in 2019 about when he knew he was supposed to be with Destiny. "I also felt myself growing as a person when Ryan came into my life, especially mentally. And I realized that I'm ready to deal with anything I have to deal with alongside Ryan. Once I felt that, I knew."

Powers also spoke about how their relationship being public was great for people to see. "It is so important for our people to see healthy Black love," he explained. "Whether it's a relationship, marriage or even friendships. Black love gives us hope. When you see Black love flourish, it's powerful."

Destiny, meanwhile, spoke about her own reasoning for trying to keep their relationship under wraps. "For a minute, we tried to hide it for numerous reasons, but as human beings sometimes you want to just shout to the world 'I love this person and I'm happy!'" she said. "We try to find a balance. I'm already a private person and very career driven so reminding people that I am my own person is important."

While their romance appeared to be going strong, Powers and Destiny also teamed up for work, including a stunning Calvin Klein campaign. In July 2019, Big Sean tapped the real-life couple to star in the music video for his song "Single Again." Powers and Destiny played a couple at the center of a cheating scandal.

Discussing the music video for the tune on Twitter, Big Sean gave some insight into what he had hoped for the visuals. "I shot this video in Detroit, hired locally in the city and we made it with good energy n all love," he wrote. "I know what it's like to be in social scandals where even with no information/ evidence, just people assuming will blame you and turn on you. It's something that's been happening to black men especially forever and I wanted to touch on that n show how social media has the power to sway people's opinion to the point of hatred."

He added of Powers and Destiny's roles: "This is also a video of love and a beautiful couple who has to decide is it better to be separate or understand each other's difference be stronger from it. Played by @RyanDestiny and @KeithTPowers."

However, as of today, the two are still following each other on Instagram and have been spotted out together at a few red carpet events this year — including Essence's Black Women in Hollywood event back in March.

In June, Powers and Destiny looked beautiful as they posed together on the red carpet at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Powers's Netflix film "The Perfect Find." While she didn't share any photos of herself with Powers on Instagram from the night, Destiny documented the evening in a post, which she simply captioned, "<3." The two also attended the American Black Film Festival together that same week.

Though the two still haven't said whether they're back together or not, fans noticed them spending a lot of time together over the summer. On Aug. 22, Powers posted on Instagram about celebrating his birthday on a Virgin Voyages cruise, and Destiny shared a similar post about the same cruise a few days later, though neither appear in each other's photos. However, it's safe to assume the two went on the same getaway trip together — fans certainly called it out in their comment sections. Does this mean their romance is back on? Only they can tell us that.
