What to Know About Lukas Gage — From His Go-To Karaoke Song to His Reported Engagement

Gage's first acting job was in a wart-removal commercial. "That was my claim to fame," he previously shared with V magazine, noting that it was a notch on his belt among his classmates. Besides commercials, Gage also spent time acting at film camp every summer as a kid. In an interview with Galore, the actor discussed how this experienced shaped him growing up. "It was a safe way for me to express myself and was almost like therapy," he said.

During an interview with Bustle, Gage shared some relatable guilty pleasures and his love for everything pop culture. He revealed that Cher is his celebrity idol, his go-to karaoke song is "Shallow" by Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, and that if he were on reality TV, he'd be on either "Below Deck Mediterranean" or "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City." Gage crashed Paris Hilton's wedding to now-husband Carter Reum in November 2021. While a guest on Hilton's podcast, "This Is Paris," he explained how it all came about. "I think the story got a little bit fumbled and maybe exaggerated, but I had a mutual friend that was there at the wedding — and he didn't tell me that it was a wedding," he shared. "He just said, 'Come to Paris's party.'" Hilton didn't seem to mind, though, and instead extended Gage an invitation to the premiere party for the podcast's final episode.

Gage previously shared that his "The White Lotus" costar and "Saturday Night Live" legend Molly Shannon encouraged him to share a Zoom audition clip where a director was caught criticizing the size of Gage's apartment. "I was having some drinks with Molly and we were talking about our worst audition stories, and I showed her this video and . . . she just basically told me you have to post it. Together with "Euphoria" producer Phoebe Fisher, Gage cowrote and starred in a comedy film titled "Down Low." The movie — whose cast includes Gage, Zachary Quinto, and Audra McDonald — is about "a deeply repressed man, the uninhibited young man that gives him a happy ending, and all the lives they ruin along the way," according to Deadline. It premiered at SXSW on March 11, 2023.

Gage and Appleton first sparked dating rumors in late February 2023 after the actor posted photos of the two on a Mexican getaway vacation. After they attended Vanity Fair and TikTok's A Night For Young Hollywood party together on March 8, Appleton confirmed the pair's romance during an appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show," via a clip shared on March 15. Then, on April 5, multiple outlets reported their engagement news, with one source telling Us Weekly, "They're not telling the public yet, but they have told friends they are engaged." Reps for Gage did not respond to POPSUGAR's request for comment (reps for Appleton could not be reached).

The actor showed off photos of his pooch on Instagram in an April 3 post captioned, "my new son, Dash." Stars like "Euphoria"'s Sydney Sweeney commented, "pup date when I'm back ❤️," while Gage's rumored fiancé posted dog emoji under his post and wrote, "He's a beauty ❤️."

Though Gage enjoys the craft of acting, he's not a big fan of the fame that comes with it. "I like doing interviews. I like conversations like this. But the thing that gets hard as I'm becoming more of a public figure is navigating a public versus private life," he admitted to The Hollywood Reporter. "I never want to feel like I'm hiding or trying to cover up anything, but I have to keep some things for myself."
